PRODUCT INFORMATION

About Supermicro

Supermicro offers a broad server portfolio spanning rackmount, GPU, multi-node, storage, edge and workstation systems. For Bay Digital customers, the X14 generation is especially relevant: current Hyper, CloudDC and WIO rackmount families use Intel Xeon 6 processors with DDR5, PCIe 5.0 and modern NVMe options, while Supermicro's modular approach allows systems to be configured around the exact I/O, storage and expansion requirements of a production workload.

Products & capabilities

01

X14 Hyper — flagship 1U/2U rackmount architecture with flexible storage and I/O, including configurations with up to eight PCIe 5.0 slots.

02

X14 CloudDC — modular 1U/2U data-center systems based on OCP DC-MHS concepts for serviceability and flexible deployment.

03

X14 WIO — I/O-optimized 1U/2U systems for applications that need flexible expansion and networking choices.

04

X14 Multi-Processor — larger systems for memory-, compute- or acceleration-heavy workloads.

05

X14 storage-capable platforms — NVMe and high-density disk configurations are available when a workload needs local high-throughput storage.

06

Supermicro eStore categories also include GPU, multi-node, edge, storage and workstation platforms for specialized requirements.

DETAILED OVERVIEW

What to know about Supermicro Servers.

01

Application-aware sizing

A DALIM processing node, Xinet server, RIP, database host and virtualization server each stress CPU, memory, storage and networking differently. Bay Digital sizes the hardware around the actual workload instead of using a generic server configuration.

02

Current X14 platform

Supermicro X14 rackmount systems support current Intel Xeon 6 processors along with DDR5, PCIe 5.0 and modern EDSFF/NVMe options. This gives us a current platform for new production deployments.

03

Hyper, CloudDC and WIO

Hyper is a flexible performance-oriented rackmount family; CloudDC emphasizes modular data-center deployment; WIO provides I/O flexibility. Bay Digital can choose the family based on application, storage and expansion needs.

04

Reliability and management

Production configurations can include redundant hot-swap power, enterprise storage, remote management and appropriate network redundancy so a server failure is less likely to become a production outage.

05

Migration and integration

Bay Digital can stage the OS, migrate application/data services, preserve DNS and network dependencies, validate license services and application connectivity, and plan a rollback window before cutover.

BAY DIGITAL OVERVIEW

Bay Digital designs Supermicro server configurations around the applications they will actually run. We can size CPU, memory, NVMe/SAS storage, network interfaces and redundancy for production systems, then handle operating-system deployment, migration, application integration, monitoring and support.
